Was lucky enough to be invited to a fabulous business lunch today with the Walton Business Group.  The venue was a gorgeous garden on the banks of the Thames, just what you want on an English Summer day.  Our hostess, Louise Cummins, is the proprietor of Garden Makers and if her garden is an example of her work then I’m surprised she has the time to host events like this one!  The area is terraced down to the river and the view is superb.  The lunch was provided by Jan Ghosh of Not Just Canapes and a laid back, jolly good time was had by all.

Our guest speaker this month was Dominic Raab MP.  We had never met until today, although he has been writing a monthly column for Your Elmbridge since he was elected last year, so we had been pen-pals for some time.  He spoke about one of his key priorities which is give business  back its cutting edge and how he plans to help local businesses in particular.  Hmm, I wonder if he will be blogging about meeting me?  Chances are slim to none, I think!

Later I had a really up-beat and productive meeting with the lovely and extremely talented Alizon Jones, who manages to kick my butt (business coaching – wise of course) in the gentlest possible way.

After such a hard working day I shall be giving myself a day off tomorrow…and going to Wembley Stadium to see Take That and the Pet Shop Boys!
